Thursday Afternoon Weather Update – 6:01 PM

A Happy New Year’s Eve to you! If you have plans outdoors this evening, our weather will remain dry until around midnight. A few light showers will move in around and after midnight. Don’t expect a washout, but some light showers will continue until daybreak tomorrow morning. A few snow flakes are possible north of Tuscaloosa, but we aren’t expecting any travel issues.

2010 will start off cold and dry, with skies becoming sunny late in the day. We’ll have a chilly north wind all day, which will reinforce the cold air into Alabama. Highs will top out in the middle 40s. The rest of the weekend will remain chilly and dry, with mostly sunny weather. Highs will be in the middle to upper 40s through Sunday. Really cold temperatures are expected early next week, with highs in the upper 30s. Mostly sunny skies continue through the mid portion of next week. Los at night will reach into the upper teens by Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Have a great day!
