Forecast Discussion Update 10/30 6:58 PM

It has been a very busy day here in West and Central Alabama. At this time there are no active warnings in our coverage area. A tornado watch will be in place until 1:00 a.m. for most of our area. The only counties not included are those along the Georgia State Line. The watch will slowly be trimmed away from west to east over the state. A cold front is pushing through and we are experiencing a big temperature drop off. Lows will be in the 50s tonight, which is quite a change from the high of 85 we experienced today.

Look for a cloudy start to our Halloween, with daytime temperatures struggling to reach the low 60s. A few showers can’t be ruled out early, with sunshine returning late. Temperatures will bottom out in the middle 40s tomorrow night. Make sure the little trick-or-treaters have a jacket on-hand.

It looks like we’re in for a stretch of dry weather starting on Sunday. We will have a sunny sky through the start of next week, with daytime highs in the 70s. A strong surface high will shift across the region through mid-week and this will keep us dry through next Saturday. We will have cool nights, with very comfortable days. We will continue to monitor the tornado watch and we will update you if there are any developments. Stay tuned!
