Saturday Afternoon Weather Discussion-5:26 PM

A good Saturday to you! After a cold and cloudy start to the day, conditions became much better this afternoon. Sunny skies have returned, but as the sun sets, temperatures will get cold in a hurry. Tonight’s low is forecasted to reach the upper 30s. There is even a frost advisory for our northern counties; that include, Fayette, Lamar, Walker, Jefferson and Shelby Counties. Warm weather returns tomorrow afternoon, with lower 70s likely. Sunny skies are in the forecast through Monday. Our weather quickly changes on Tuesday, as an upper air low moves over Alabama. There’s a lot of inconsistency in our guidance, so we need to keep an eye on this one. Be sure to check out Sunday’s weather discussion for much more on Tuesday’s forecast.

Our weather turns dry on Wednesday, with a few clouds and warm temperatures; highs will recover into the upper 70s. A large trough is going to develop and move into the central part of the nation; that will bring a good chance of rain here on Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures will likely become chilly for Halloween, as a strong cold front moves through central Alabama. We’ll more on your forecast on WVUA’s news at 10 tonight. Be sure to join us then for the latest.
