More heat, more humidity. That’s what you can expect the next several days in West Alabama. We’re in the upper 90s with the heat index between 100 and 107. I hope you are able to take it easy during these hot days!

Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, will be much like today with temperatures in the middle to upper 90s with the heat index above 100 in the hottest hours of the day.

The high pressure system, which has kept us hot, humid and rain-free for the last several days, is starting to move to the west, that means a slight chance for a thunderstorm or two as early as Wednesday afternoon. By slight, I mean less than 10% in this part of the state.

As we go into the weekend, the chances for storms go up slightly, to the 20% to 30% range. Temperatures will be seasonable, in the lower 90s in the afternoon and in the lowers 70s over night.

I’ll have the forecast on the air on WVUA News First at 4:00 and tonight on the News at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00.
