Update: Severe Threat Ending

The majority of the storms have cleared out of West Alabama excluding Marengo County. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch will continue for this county until 1:00 am. We will continue to monitor the progress of the storms in Marengo County and if any storms pulse to the severe level we will certainly give you the latest details. Temperatures will cool off steadily tonight and after a day with record setting highs, we are going to notice quite a change tomorrow. Dry air will work its way into West Alabama tonight allowing for temperatures to dip into the upper 30’s. Tomorrow will be sunny and with a clear sky lingering into tomorrow night, lows will be in the 20s. All eyes are on the weekend now as another fast moving system could bring a chance of snow to the Twin States.

A special thanks to you for sharing some of your weather pictures with us! We really appreciate all of the great reports that were sent to us throughout the day. We were excited to debut are new stormreports.com interface. You will learn much more about this in the weeks ahead. Be sure to sign up to stormreports.com for free! You can send pictures and video to this site and they will display live on our radar, while covering weather in West Alabama. We will have more on the Saturday snow potential in tomorrow mornings discussion on the main weather page. Go to wvua7.com and click “weather.”
