Wednesday Afternoon Discussion Update 4:31 PM

Last night was by far our coldest night of the season as most areas dropped into the low 20s. Tonight won’t be quite as cold, due a light southwest breeze. You can still expect a light freeze as winds calm tonight, with a low near 29 degrees. Tomorrow is going to be another bright day and our temperatures will make a nice recovery into the lower 60s. There will be another blast of cold air arriving just in time for Friday. We will have a cold north wind, with highs only reaching the upper 40s. This will set the stage for a hard freeze Friday night, with lows near 23 degrees. The cold core high responsible for the big chill will slide to our northeast on Saturday and a strong return flow of moisture will setup over Alabama. You can expect highs to reach the middle to upper 50s by Sunday, with increasing clouds. Another cold front will be guiding a reinforcing shot of cold air into Alabama early next week. Due to the available moisture, rain will be possible with this particular front on Monday and some thunder can’t be ruled out to our south. Look for temperatures to take another tumble on Tuesday and this should set the stage for a chilly start to the Thanksgiving Holiday period.
