9:30 PM-Evening Weather Update

We are dealing with quite a storm system right now! At the time of this posting, Little Rock, Arkansas is sitting at 33 degrees with a thunderstorm overhead. We are currently experiencing warming temperatures and another cluster of heavy rain is moving our way. This time there is a threat for thunderstorms and the activity will march across through midnight. The primary threat with the storms tonight will be hail and gusty winds. Throughout this entire event so far, the Tuscaloosa Airport has measured 1.09”. Our weather watcher in Northport has measured just over 0.60”. We should easily see another half inch as the heavy rain and storms move in. Also, some storms to our south may grow severe. A severe thunderstorm watch is up for Greene, Hale, and Marengo Counties. This watch goes until 2:00 AM and it may likely be extended after midnight. Warmer and more unstable air will lift in by daybreak and that should set the stage for thunderstorm development tomorrow, mainly in areas south of Tuscaloosa. Be sure to join us at ten for more details!
