Tuesday Afternoon Update

Current TemperaturesGood afternoon, hope you’ve been having a great day.  The weather today continues to be almost picture perfect across the area.  Lots of sunshine, low humidity levels and an occasional breeze, mostly out of the east.  I wish I could bottle this up and enjoy it about every day!

Unfortunately, we still need a lot of rain!  I was looking over the latest numbers from the National Weather Service this afternoon and we need a lot of rain!  In Tuscaloosa, the deficit is officially 25.37 inches.  Around the state, only Anniston’s deficit of 26.44 is worse right now.

Fortunately, there are some chances for rain as we get in to the end of the week, through the weekend and into the start of next week.

We started this morning about like yesterday morning, lows ranging from the mid and upper 40s, to the upper 50s.  Tonight, I think we’ll all stay above 50… but some spots will be cooler than others.

As I mentioned, we have slight chances for showers and storms starting as soon as late Wednesday night in our far southern and southeastern areas.  Thursday through Tuesday, looks like we’ll have a chance for a scattered shower and thunderstorm area-wide, as we get a return to a southerly flow.  That will usher in more Gulf moisture and with it the threat for a few showers and storms.

Right now, it doesn’t look like a big washout for any of the events going on around the area, but you might want to have an umbrella handy, just in case.
