Severe Weather Update

We are currently watching the storms south of Tuscaloosa where they have just cancelled the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for Hale and Marengo Counties. These storms do not have a warning associated with them anymore, but these are still very dangerous storms with heavy rain, strong winds, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning. These storms are moving north and have winds of 35-45 mph. We will keep you posted here on the WVUA Blog.

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY: EMA reports lightning struck a house at Cottondale at 4:46 pm. There was significant damage to the house.

We had a heavy downpour on the near Linden this afternoon; at one point, there was some small hail on County Road 44. The cloud to ground lightning was also very intense. While I didn’t get any rain at my house on the other side of town, at least some people got lucky enough to get some good amounts of rain.
