Monday Afternoon Forecast Discussion Update

Good Afternoon! We’ve experienced quite a warm-up for this final day of April, with temperatures in the middle 80s. Unfortunately, the month didn’t bring us much relief in the rain-fall department, with a deficit of 13.68.” You can expect more dry weather as we work into the first day of May. Lows tonight will be in the 50s under mostly clear skies. Tomorrow as the ridge of high pressure remains overhead, you can expect another partly to mostly sunny day. Temperatures will warm into the middle to upper 80s.

There is an isolated upper level storm system, spinning away back over Texas. This system sure is amazing to see as it spins away on the latest satellite images. There are some strong storms with this system and that activity is down over south Texas. The question is will this system bring us rain anytime soon? For now I’m expecting the ridge of high pressure to hold strong through at-least Wednesday. The disturbance will help weaken the ridge a bit on Thursday and this will allow for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Friday will be very similar, with the ridge tightening its grip again by Saturday.
