Thursday Afternoon Forecast Discussion Update

We finally received some much needed rainfall, check out the following totals:

    Tuscaloosa: 1.26”
    Birmingham: 1.98”
    Livingston: 2.10”
    Hamilton: 0.98”
    Cordova: 0.68”
    Fayette: 0.45”
    Bessemer: 1.25”
    Abernant: 1.83”
    West Blocton: 1.52”

The rain is now out of the picture for the time being and dry air is moving in. The sky has remained partly cloudy and there will be additional cloudiness overnight. The sky cover and the west-northwest wind should keep lows in the mid 50s. Tomorrow will be a partly sunny day and it’s going to feel nice, with readings in the comfortable 70s.

A small-scale disturbance will spread more clouds into the area on Saturday and a few afternoon showers will be possible. This will be a weak system and many locations could stay rain-free. The chance for a passing shower will linger into Saturday night, with a return to warm and sunny conditions on Sunday. The forecast remains on track regarding early next week, it appears high pressure will keep us dry, with a warm-up into the mid 80s for the start of May.
