Warmer Weather Ahead, Then Cooler… Thursday Forecast Update 6pm

Good Thursday afternoon to you! It’s been a very nice day for the 1st of November, with temperatures reaching 70 degrees across much of the area. As temperatures warmed during the peak heating hours, they are now cooling as the sun sets. Look for temperatures to fall into the 50s at 7pm and 40s at 10pm. While it will not be as cold as lastnight, temperatures will still get rather chilly. Look for a low around 43 tonight.

The upper air trough is moving out now, and ridging is starting to nose in from the west. This will allow for a nice warming trend through Friday and Saturday. Most spots will reach the upper 70s on Friday and lower 80s on Saturday. If you have any outdoor events planned this weekend, you can expect the risk scattered showers and storms on Sunday. Saturday is looking like a great weather day with a mostly sunny sky. The risk of rain won’t move into the area until Sunday.

Don’t forget we end Daylight Savings Time Saturday night, so set that clock back 1 hour before you go to bed. The official time change is at 2am Sunday morning. Atleast we all get an extra hour of sleep. This is also a good time to make sure your smoke or carbon monoxide detectors are working correctly.

Much cooler air is set to take over on Monday and Tuesday, as highs struggle to reach the lower to middle 60s for highs. Lows will likely fall into the lower 40s Monday night and upper 30s by Tuesday night. A few showers are possible on Monday, but most forecast data shows a dry weather setup for the rest of the week. A gradual warming trend takes over late next week, but temperatures will remain below average.

If you’re going to the Alabama/LSU game on Saturday, expect a partly cloudy sky and the risk of a passing shower or storm. The chance of rain at this point looks rather low for the game. Temperatures will fall into the 60s. Kickoff in Baton Rouge is set for 7pm.
