Warmer Days Ahead… Wednesday Afternoon Forecast Update – 5pm
October 31, 2012 Leave a comment
Good Wednesday afternoon to you! I hope your Halloween Day is going good. While our weather has turned out very pleasant this afternoon with warmer temperatures and light winds, expect some quick changes after sunset. You’ll need the light jacket this evening if you have an outdoor event planned. Look for temperatures to fall into the 50s after sunset and upper 40s by 10pm. Winds will remain light to calm through tonight. Lows will bottom out between 36 and 40 degrees. There could be a little patchy frost in the typical cooler spots.
We can expect much warmer weather for the rest of the week and into the weekend, as the upper air trough moves out of the area. Look for a high around 70 on Thursday and 75 on Friday. Ridging will nose in from the west late Friday and on Saturday, and many spots could reach the upper 70s on Saturday. Skies will remain sunny to mostly sunny through Saturday. Low level moisture will increase a bit on Sunday and Monday, which will allow for an increase in cloud cover. As a fast moving disturbance moves in from the west, we will have to increase the risk of rain late Sunday and early Monday. Some model data shows a few showers arriving around lunch on Sunday, so you may have to take the rain gear to church Sunday.
Don’t forget we end Daylight Savings Time Saturday night, so set that clock back 1 hour before you go to bed. The official time change is at 2am Sunday morning. Atleast we all get an extra hour of sleep. This is also a good time to make sure your smoke or carbon monoxide detectors are working correctly.
Cooler weather takes over on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures in the 60s. Temperatures will fall into the 30s Monday night and Tuesday night. Skies will become sunny again late Monday and on Tuesday as cooler and drier air takes over.
Alabama takes on LSU on Saturday… It’s a late game in Baton Rouge, with a 7pm kickoff. Look for partly cloudy skies and the risk of a passing shower or storm. The chance of rain at this point looks rather low for the game. Temperatures will fall into the 60s.
