Nice Rain Event! No Severe Storms… Thursday Update 3:10am

Good morning! As of 3:10am, a nice band of soaking rain and thunder stretches across much of central and west Alabama. The back edge of the rain will push through our entire west and central Alabama counties before daybreak this morning. There are no severe weather issues at this hour, and I don’t expect any issues in our area. We can give an all clear for the threat for our southern most counties such as Marengo and Sumter as well. Most spots have picked up a nice rain event, with reports of 2 inches across parts of west Alabama tonight. Other spots have averaged around 1/2 an inch. I’ll get a list of rain totals on the blog later today.
Temperatures will cool off a bit behind the cold front today. Look for highs to reach the middle 70s today, with a good supply of sun. We could have clouds hanging around for part of the morning, but most of the day should feature a decrease in clouds and nice weather. Temperatures will become chilly at night, with low to middle 40s on this Thursday night and each night through the weekend.
