Cold Temperatures This Morning! Monday Afternoon Update 5pm

Check out the morning lows across the area today. Most spots started off in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Notice the warmer overnight lows over eastern Alabama, where most spots only reached the upper 40s to lower 50s. Clouds across east Alabama kept temperatures up a bit lastnight. Remember, clouds tend to act as a blanket and will keep temperatures warmer at night, unlike under a clear sky.
Tuscaloosa reached 43 degrees, but weather watchers have reported temperatures in the upper 30s starting off the day. This will be the last really cold morning for a while, as we deal with a moderating trend through the weekend. Sure, temperatures will remain pretty cool until we get to the weekend, but it will be warmer than lastnight… Look for tempertures to reach the upper 40s to lower 50s tonight.
