Cool Today, Nice Ahead… Monday Afternoon Forecast Discussion – 4:25pm Update
October 8, 2012 Leave a comment
A good Monday afternoon to you! It’s been another chilly fall day, with temperatures ranging between 55 and 65 degrees. The warmer weather is situated across our southern counties, where afternoon sun has really warmed things up. Many areas along and north of I-20 have dealt with mostly cloudy skies for much of the day. We can expect temperatures to cool off quickly tonight, as skies clear out. I expect most of the area to become clear shortly after sunset. The upper air trough that brought the clouds and mist this morning is moving east. Sinking air behind that system will clear out the skies over the next few hours.
Lows tonight will fall into the upper 30s to lower 40s. Look for upper 30s north of I-20 and low 40s south of I-20 tonight. If you have any outdoor plans tonight, you’ll need to take the jacket. Ample sunshine will heat things up pretty fast on our Tuesday. Look for highs to reach the lower 70s. Overall, our Tuesday will be a nice weather day after the chilly start. A nice warm-up is likely on Wednesday, with a high near 79. Temperatures at night will remain pretty chilly, with lows in the upper 40s on Tuesday night, Wednesday night and Thursday night. Some spots could reach 80 by Wednesday afternoon. A secondary cold front is set to arrive sometime Wednesday evening or Wednesday night. This will bring a very temporary cooling trend for Thursday. Highs will take a slight dip into the middle 70s on Thursday, but look for a great warm-up on Friday and Saturday. Highs will reach the lower 80s. If you have plans outdoors over the weekend, the weather is looking nearly perfect. We’ll continue to deal with a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky. Highs will reach the lower 80s across the area.
