Good Friday evening to you! Check out this rainbow picture from Jana Logan. Jana took this picture in Tuscaloosa just after 7pm this evening, as a heavy downpour moved across town. This is a good sign for a Friday the 13th.
Some parts of west and central Alabama got a nice soaking this afternoon and evening, as a batch of storms moved from southeast to northwest. These storms produced very heavy rain across parts of our area, while other towns remained rain free. I picked up 0.75” at my house in Northport. There are still a few storms over northwest Alabama, as small scale disturbance moves through the state. While most spots have gone rain free for now, there is still a risk of a stray storm or two tonight.
Additional scattered storms are possible on Saturday, with highs in the lower 90s. The risk of rain on Saturday is at 50%, which means some spots will stay dry. If it rains at your house, it won’t last very long. Sky conditions will remain partly cloudy over the weekend and into early next week.
