Good Wednesday morning to you! Our are has had a much needed rain event over the past couple of days, and rain continues to fall this morning across our area. The storms we dealt with yesterday evening did cause some flash flooding issues, but the rain across our area this morning is light to moderate. While rain is falling across much of our area now, the back edge is moving through Lamar and Marion County as of 9:45am. The rain will end along the I-20/59 area by noon and the Montgomery area by 1pm. Skies will become sunny this afternoon, and a refreshing airmass will filter in from the northwest. Temperatures will stay in the 70s all day today and on Thursday, with overnight lows in the lower 50s tonight and Thursday night. Expect skies to remain sunny through Friday.
Mother’s Day Weekend may give us some issues as another storm system moves our way. Saturday will include the risk of isolated afternoon storms, but better rain chances will move in on Sunday and Monday as an upper level low moves into the area. This system will bring a chance of scattered storms to our area for Mother’s Day, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. While the activity looks scattered, many spots will pick up another nice amount of rain.
