Bring on the rain! We’ve measured over an inch of rain in Tuscaloosa today and if you have some reports to share, please feel free to submit those in our comments section on this post. We are going to be in an unsettled pattern through tonight and tomorrow. You can expect mostly cloudy conditions through tonight and tomorrow, with a few peaks of sunshine tomorrow. We will have the chance for a passing thunderstorm or shower from time to time. Some of the storms may be strong or severe, even during the overnight period. A cold front will drop into the heart of the area tomorrow night and once this front passes, the wet weather will be shifting south of our area. Other than the chance of an early morning shower, our Saturday should be rather pleasant with a nice northerly breeze. Highs will be in the 80s, with some afternoon sunshine.
The upper air pattern will become quite amplified by Sunday and Monday. This will open the door to a cooler and drier flow over Alabama. We will have highs in the 80s for Sunday and Monday, with lows in the 50s. You can expect a sunny sky for both days. A disturbance will impact southern Alabama on Tuesday and this will spread more clouds our way and possibly a shower. By Wednesday there will be a greater chance of a few showers over the area, especially in locations south of Tuscaloosa. I’m expecting the humid air to start building in here by Thursday and Friday of next week.
The Dog Days of Summer: We’re entering the dog days of summer and we’re asking viewers to send in pictures of their dogs beating the heat. Last year we had so much fun with this and we want to do it again. We will begin showing pictures during our weather segments on Monday. Please send your pictures to: wxpics@wvuatv.com
