We are dealing with more isolated afternoon thundershowers and this activity will gradually diminish overnight. You can expect a very muggy Tuesday night, with lows in the 70s. There may be some fog around during the early morning hours tomorrow. A rather amplified upper air pattern will develop tomorrow and this will set the stage for higher rain chances. I must say that this setup isn’t too common for this time of the year. In fact, the models are advertising a cool front arriving over the weekend.

Tomorrow will be a mostly cloudy day, with a good chance for a passing shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon and tomorrow night. A surface front will drop in on Friday bringing a good chance for rain and thunderstorms. Some storms may be on the strong or severe side, with gusty straight-line winds. By Friday night the heaviest rain will be in areas south of Tuscaloosa. I’m thinking the greatest rain threat over the next couple of days will be in the afternoon hours. However, on Saturday the greatest threat for rain will be during the early morning hours.

It won’t feel quite as steamy on Saturday, with highs near 87 degrees. Drier air will start pouring in on Saturday and Sunday, with lots of sunshine. Lows Sunday night will drop to near 60 degrees and it’s not out of the question some location will drop into the upper 50s. Needless to say, this will be a welcomed break from the oppressive heat. I will have more details for you first at four and at five, six, and ten!
