Friday Afternoon Weather Discussion – 2:15 p.m.
June 5, 2009 Leave a comment
A good Friday to you! We’ve dealt with a very nice break from the June heat today, with temperatures struggling to reach the lower 70s this afternoon. A cold front moved through our area last night, which gave us a welcome relief in heat and humidity. The cloud cover has also added into the effect of keeping temperatures cooler today. Skies will clear out tonight and temperatures are heading for the middle 50s. If you have plans at the Gordo Mule Day and Chicken fest, expect nice conditions for the rest of the evening. Mule Day gets kicked off again tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. You can expect a sunny sky, with pleasant temperatures in the morning; we will quickly warm into the upper 80s during the afternoon hours.
Temperatures will begin to get hot again by Sunday, with a sunny sky in the forecast and highs in the lower 90s. Humidity won’t become a factor until Tuesday, so expect comfortable mornings and evenings until then. Clouds will gradually increase by the middle of next week.
A storm system will bring us a shot of rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday, with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will cool into the upper 80s, due to more clouds and rainfall in the area on Wednesday and Thursday. Humidity will make up the difference and it will be rather muggy. I’m filling in for Wes and Robert today for weather, so be sure to join me today at 4, 5 and 6 PM. Also, join me tonight at 10 p.m. for more on WVUA-TV.
Have a great day!
