Sunday Afternoon Weather Discussion

A good Sunday to you! Today was another very hot day across the area, where we saw nearly record breaking warmth. Our record high for today was 92, which was set back in 1990; we reached 91 degrees. Unfortunately, this hot weather is going to continue for the next two days.

For tomorrow, you can expect a very hot day, with high humidity across the area. We can’t rule out a stray shower for tomorrow, but the chance of rain is not looking good. We still desperately need some rain. Check out some of these rainfall deficits as of now for 2007:

Tuscaloosa: -25.86”

Anniston: -26.82”

Birmingham: -18.90”

Montgomery: -14.57”

We are hoping for some good rainfall amounts ahead, but as of now, the chance of seeing any good rain totals over the next 5 to 7 days looks really small. In-fact, our best chance of rain comes on Tuesday, but the chance of rain is only 30%. There is a cold front pushing across the Central Plains towards the southeast. This front will bring us a shot of fall-like weather through the end of the week. Our highs will drop into the 70s on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, giving us a great weekend to take on the outdoors. In-fact, with low humidity in place, it will feel very nice across the area, with sunny skies. Lows this weekend will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Looking ahead, I don’t see any good chances of rain until about 10 days from now. Hopefully, we will catch a break from out drought situation soon!

Be sure to tune in tonight at 10 p.m. for the latest weather forecast.
