Good Afternoon! The chill was back today thanks to a cool north wind. An upper level storm system remains nearly stationary to our east and this system is impacting southern Georgia and the Carolinas. The flow around the backside of this system is giving us the cool north breeze. Atmospheric pressure readings to the west are much higher and this is where temperatures are starting to recover nicely. Some late afternoon observations show Shreveport in the middle 60s, Dallas near 70-degrees, and Amarillo near 75-degrees. Temperatures around here will make a slow recovery over the next few days and by Friday we will be seeing some 70s for high temperatures. With all this being said, it’s still going to be cold during the overnight hours and lows will be dropping below freezing tonight. Overnight lows beyond tomorrow night will be above the freezing point through at-least the start of next week.
The data is showing lots of sunshine through Saturday and we will start to see some clouds on Sunday. Moisture will begin overrunning the state on Monday and this will keep our highs in the 60s. A few showers or sprinkles will be possible by Monday evening. Look for a mild south breeze on Tuesday with a passing shower by Tuesday night. A cold front will pass through by Wednesday morning, with another big drop in temperatures expected.
