Good Afternoon! I am very excited to debut an exclusive new product that will allow you to get numerous weather products on your cell phone. Turn your cell phone into a “WVUA-TV Storm Cell.” Get lightning, radar, and satellite data with zoom capability. Also, you can get forecasts, current conditions, and severe weather alerts. Storm Cell even allows you to track tropical activity. For more information on how to sign up click here
The heavy rain has now shifted out of the area and only a few showers remain. We also have lots of clouds in place and while driving along this afternoon I noticed some very ominous looking cloud cover in the city of Tuscaloosa. Right now an upper atmospheric low is spinning to the north. This feature will bring more clouds overnight and the possibility of a stray shower or sprinkles. The only showers nearby are occurring along highway 43 north of Fayette. The heaviest rainfall activity in the state was occurring just south of Centre in East Alabama, about to move into Heflin and Wedowee. Low temperatures tonight will be dropping into the 40s.Tomorrow will begin a stretch of pleasant weather as sunshine returns. Highs tomorrow will be in the 60s, with lows in the 40s. Thursday and Friday will be great days to get outdoors. After chilly starts, highs will warm into the upper 70s. The sky will be sunny each day and clear at night.
A cold front is going to move in this weekend and bring us a few showers late Saturday and into the day on Sunday. The long-range data is still having a tough time getting a handle on the scenario for next week. Another disturbance will swing a cold front in our direction early next week. Right now I’m thinking Monday will be a partly cloudy day, with rain returning late Monday and into Tuesday.
Be sure to join us tonight at five, six, and ten for more details!
