Friday Afternoon Forecast Discussion Update

November 3, 2006

Greetings from the weather center on another chilly November afternoon! We started off on a very cold note today. Check out the following morning lows:

Hamilton: 24, Columbus, MS: 28, Livingston: 30, Talladega: 30, Jasper: 31, Blue Pond: 31, Cordova: 32, Taylorville: 32, Tuscaloosa Airport: 35, Clanton: 36, Centreville: 36, Meridian, MS: 37.

As you can see many locations managed to stay just above freezing and tonight that won’t be the case as winds decrease and skies clear. All areas will see the freezing mark early tomorrow morning and then we will have a slow recovery during the day tomorrow. Grab a heavy jacket before you head out the high school football games tonight.

High pressure will keep us sunny this weekend and now it appears the dry weather will continue into the day Monday. Highs for tomorrow and Sunday will be in the 60s, with lows at night in the upper 30s to low 40s. Even though Monday looks dry, clouds will be on the increase as an upper level storm system develops over south Texas. Overrunning moisture ahead of this feature will bring us showers on Monday and Tuesday. A surge of warmer air will build in by next Thursday, with highs in the 70s. More rain will be possible along, with the chance for thunderstorms. It appears this complex storm system will keep our weather unsettled into next weekend.

Join us tonight at five, six, and ten for complete weather details!
